There are lots of ways of joining two pieces of wood but a sign of true craftsmanship is using dovetails.

A beautifully cut dovetail is a joy to see – but doing it by hand, while very satisfying, is also very difficult and time consuming.

So if you want the visual appeal, but you don’t want it to take you all day, you need a dovetail jig, and this one, from Woodriver, is currently on sale at Woodcraft at a saving of $10.00.

You’ll need  a 1/2 inch dovetail bit for your router, and a 5/8 inch template guide bushing as well, which aren’t included, but it’s still quite a bargain.
